For nearly 15 years combined, we’ve had the privilege of caring for families at this practice. Along the way, we’ve learned that great orthodontic care is about more than straightening teeth. It’s about knowing the people behind the smiles, earning their trust, and making every patient feel genuinely cared for.
We’re grateful for the legacy Dr. Wentz built here and for the years we spent caring for patients alongside him. That history is an important part of this practice, and we’re proud to carry it forward as Sperry and Tivis Family Orthodontics, formerly Wentz Orthodontics.

The name is changing. Here is what is staying the same.
Names can change. Signs can change. But the way we want people to feel when they walk through our doors does not.
Yes, our practice, formerly Wentz Orthodontics and most recently known as Sperry, Tivis and Wentz Orthodontics, is becoming Sperry and Tivis Family Orthodontics. But for our patients, the most important things remain the same:
- The doctors and team you already know
- The same commitment to excellent orthodontic care
- The relationships we’ve built with West Texas families
- The welcoming patient experience that has defined this practice for decades
- A focus on treating people as people, not simply as orthodontic cases
We’ve grown with this practice.
We’ve both grown with this practice in different ways.
Dr. Sperry joined the practice in 2016 and has spent years caring for West Texas families, working alongside the team, and learning what matters most to our patients.
Dr. Tivis joined as an orthodontist in 2018, but his connection began much earlier. He first knew the practice as a patient, then worked here as an orthodontic assistant before eventually returning as a doctor.
Those experiences have shaped the way we lead today. We know the people, the culture, and the standard of care our patients expect, and we continue to build on that foundation together.

As we look to the future, our focus is simple: Keep making orthodontic care more personal, comfortable, and convenient for the families we serve.

I brought my daughter for a consultation and am very impressed by the service and attention that was given. We took a while to come back and set up treatment because my daughter needed a route canal. They were so patient and the orthodontist is very knowledgable and answered all the questions we had. You can tell he has been doing this for a long time. We know we made a good choice coming here!
We have seen several different orthodontists , and Sperry, Tivis, & Wentz by far have been the best! They have treated all four of our girls. They were quick to take care of my daughter when she was diagnosed with brain cancer, and needed her braces taken off for MRI’s then quickly got her in to Invisalign. We are very pleased with the services provided!
